PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Learn how to mix and master 360-degree spatial audio in our newest, most innovative course, Dolby ATMOS: Elevated*. Inside Florida's most immersive studio room designed for out-of-this-world 7.2.4 Dolby ATMOS mixing, students will transform songs into true 3D audio revealing depth, clarity and detail so the listener feels as if they were completely immersed inside the music! Under the guidance of 7-time Billboard charting, two time RIAA certified gold mixing engineer, Skyler Gibbons, students will learn theory, configuration, audio placement and engage in over 36 hours of hands-on experience to provide spatial audio deliverables required by Digital Service Providers (DSP). HIGHLY EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTOR

7-time Billboard charting, two time RIAA certified gold mixing engineer, Skyler Gibbons, is the lead instructor for our course on surround sound mixing: Dolby ATMOS: Elevated. With over a decade of experience in the music industry, Skyler Gibbons has worked with major labels such as Interscope Records, Warner Records, Sony Music, Columbia Records, he's  been featured in video games such as Fortnite, NBA 2K and Madden and he has accumulated over a billion streams across streaming platforms! 

TRAINING INSIDE THE SKY LAB

“The Sky Lab” is our immersive studio room designed for out-of-this-world surround sound mixing. Much like high end movie theatres & cinemas, Studio S is aligned with musical, commercial, television and film audio. In what we call a “sphere of sound”, the audio engineer is surrounded by 360 degrees of 13 dolby atmos speakers hidden in the fabric walls, a100” Sony TV & digital DAW to mix and master spatial audio within the current industry standard 7.2.4 Dolby ATMOS mixing configuration. Outside of surround mixes, this room also provides a high end stereo-mixing on an SSL 4000G+ console.

ONE-ON-ONE EDUCATION

For advanced and highly specialized classes like this one, a one-on-one education is required. One-on-one’s allow for a low stress environment, more time practicing on the digital and outboard gear and the opportunity to personalize conversations and assignments.

One-on-one’s allow us to tailor each class session around your schedule! This isn't always an option for college/university classes or even some of our group courses here at Clear Track. So if your schedule is very full, we can make this course work for you!

HANDS-ON APPLICATION

When it comes to Dolby ATMOS mixing, the most important aspect is one's ABILITY TO DO. A substantial curriculum is provided in this course, but we find it absolutely necessary for anyone striving to mix in surround sound has to learn by DOING! Through practical application, our students actively use their laptops & headphones and our gear & speakers to mix while the instructor who knows the ins and outs of this specialized form of mixing to guide each student through it!

REASONABLE TUITION

Dolby ATMOS: Elevated is highly specialized and not an easily accessible education as it is so new within the music industry. Unlike most modern colleges & universities that require $70,000+ in Tuition (which includes Admission Fees, Registration Fees, Student Fees, Technology Fee, Books & Supplies, Housing, etc), we we can keep our tuition very low. We consider this to be a huge advantage considering Dolby ATMOS is the future of modern mixing!

CLASS 1: Introduction to Spatial Audio & Set Up

• Install all programs on students laptop and understand the purpose of each program/why they work

• Explore & listen to examples of Dolby ATMOS mixes

• Understand the differences between Dolby Atmos & stereo mixes

CLASS 2: Dolby ATMOS Renderer

• Understand and utilize the Renderer

• Learn how to set up speaker system & how to use headphones

• Explore & understand time code inside Dolby Renderer

CLASS 3: ProTools and Dolby ATMOS

• Understand the Dolby ATMOS Music Panner

• Learn how to print automated panning information

• Navigate Dolby ATMOS binaural settings

CLASS 4: LogicProX and Dolby ATMOS

•Understand the difference between Logic Dolby Render Vs Dolby Render

•Explore Automation in Logic Pro

• Understand objects & bed tracks

CLASS 5: Dolby ATMOS Deliverables

•Learn how to align time code to stereo mix

•Understand the industry standards

•Understand Re-renders and MP4 for artist review

CLASS 6: Your Spatial Audio Mix (Final)

•Gain hands-on experience and practical usage creating a Dolby Atmos mix (stems & 2 track)

•Critique your first Dolby ATMOS mix

•Edit, compare & make final adjustments

ELIGIBILITY: Completion of “The Art of Sound Recording” or basic audio engineer experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Laptop or desktop computer with the following programs:

  • ProTools Studio (or above) (30 day trial available)

  • Dolby ATMOS Production Suite (90 day trial available)

  • Dolby ATMOS Music Panner and Binaural plugins (included in production suite)

  • Logic Pro X (90 day trial available)

  • Dolby Atmos Album Assembler (90 day trial available)

LENGTH: Six 6-hour sessions once per week for 6 weeks. This course is 1-on-1 so scheduling is flexible and can be tailored to students availability.

PRICE: $4,500.  This course is 1-on-1 so the price reflects a highly specialized curriculum, dedicated studio time and personalized attention to the individual student. Ask about our payment plans!

TO REGISTER: We require a 50% deposit to reserve your seat. There are no additional costs. Classes run year round. Scheduling is flexible for holidays.
