Master the fundamentals of Pro Tools in Pro Tools 101! Learn how to build sessions for multi-track recordings, work with MIDI sequences & virtual instruments, and navigate the industry-standard DAW used by professionals worldwide.

Through hands-on exercises, you’ll gain experience in session creation, recording, importing, and editing—both audio and MIDI. Led by Steven Clark - industry-experienced instructor who uses Pro Tools daily - this course also provides access to top-tier mixing equipment in a real-world recording facility.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and skills to use Pro Tools professionally and meet the demands of today’s recording industry.

Our advanced classes, including Pro Tools 101, are taught exclusively 1-on-1, offering a low-stress environment, flexible scheduling, hands-on practice, and customized assignments. Pro Tools 101 is available in two formats: a 5-class series for experienced students needing a refresher and a 10-class series for those seeking comprehensive, in-depth training.

CLASS 1: Intro to pro tools

Learn the general layout of Pro Tools including the main windows

Explore the basic short cuts and general navigation of the software

Understand inserts, sends and plugins

CLASS 2: THE GRID

Learn the aspects of the grid including rulers and window set up

Understand how to setup tempo on the grid

Use what you learned by practical application of the grid.

CLASS 3: THE TOOLS

Gain a general overview of the toolbar including Edit Modes and Edit Tool

Understand what to use the toolbar for and how it can aid one’s efficiency

Apply Toolbar knowledge and familiarize oneself with it’s use in preparation for recording.

CLASS 4: THE RECORD BUTTON

Learn how to get fully set up for a recording

Discover how to set inputs and outputs

Gain hands-on experience and practical usage within Pro Tools during an actual recording session

CLASS 4: THE EDITS

Learn how to make general edits within Pro Tools

Utilize knowledge from previous lessons to enhance the current session

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF COURse

Upon completing the 5-class or 10-class format, students earn a certificate of completion. However, our ultimate goal is to equip you with the skills, tools, and knowledge to confidently run your own home studio or seamlessly navigate a professional one. Many of our graduates have gone on to build and manage their own studios or secure roles in top recording facilities!

 

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Graduates can begin an unpaid internship, completing daily tasks like cleaning and client support. Interns gain access to all five studios, observing and assisting engineers in recording, mixing, and mastering sessions—just like in top studios in Nashville, LA, and New York.

 

MORE INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY: Completion of The Art of Sound Recording, The Essentials of Hip Hop or any basic audio engineer experience. Laptop or computer with Pro Tools.

LENGTH: 5-class format (25 total hours): Five 5-hour lessons. 10-class format (50 total hours): Ten 5-hour lessons. This course is only delivered 1-on-1.

PRICE: $3,000 for the 5-class format. $5000 for 10-class format.  The tuition reflects a highly specialized curriculum, flexible schedule, dedicated studio time and personalized attention to the individual student. Ask about our payment plans!

TO REGISTER: We require a 50% deposit to reserve your seat.  The balance is due by the start date of the course OR you can participate in our payment plan. There are no additional costs.

NEXT COURSE COUNTDOWN: 1-on-1 courses have “ongoing admissions” and can begin whenever you are ready. Scheduling is flexible for holidays.
